Ayurveda translated means ‘Science of Longevity’

Ayurveda is an ancient healing system which dates back over 5000 years. It was developed by the ancient sages, and has many aspects of healing which includes Body, Mind and Spirit, and can be used alongside Western medicine.

Today Ayurveda gives one of the most extensive healing programs with its in-depth approach to the workings of the body and the healing processes. Ayurveda has made a huge impact in the West in recent years, and will continue to do so, the knowledge of Ayurveda is vast but simple and practical to use.

Ayurvedic medicine is effective and can assist by prescribing the correct herbs to bring balance to any imbalance in The DOSHES.

ABOUT THE DOSHES: – VATA, PITTA, KAPHA.

Individual Constitution

In Ayurveda every individual has their own unique constitution and we treat the individual according to their constitution, when we understand the Doshes, which are Vata, Pitta, Kapha, we get insight into the workings of the body. 

VATA (AIR)  Governs all nervous functions so when out of balance it can be the cause of many problems such as:  Anxiety, Insomnia, Osteoarthritis, Parkinson’s Disease, Tremors, Constipation and many more serious disorders.

PITTA (FIRE) is responsible for the digestion, body temperature and the metabolism. When Pitta is out of balance there can be many more disorders for example:  Acidity, Poor Digestion, Infections, Fevers, Ulcers, Boils, Skin Problems and Irritability.

KAPHA (WATER) is responsible for the stable maintenance of bodily fluids, lubrication of Joints etc. When Kapha is out of balance there is a build up of Mucus and Phlegm, and problems include: Weight Gain, Respiratory problems like Asthma and Bronchitis, Lymphatic, Congestion and Water Retention.

THE THEORY OF RASAYANAS

Rasayana is a very important part of Ayurvedic medicine as it aims to increase longevity and vitality by taking of the special herbs regularly over a long period of time, which can help slow down the aging process. Rasayanas revitalize and nourish the whole body enhancing immunity and aiding in radiant health and longevity.

When People start taking Herbal Tonics (Rasayanas), they start to feel different about themselves, they start to feel more confident, more balanced, sleep improves and generally they feel much stronger than before.
